Attacking My Teammates' Weak Excuses for Blogs!

Due to the restriction of privacy laws, wherein I am removed from the use of direct name relations for this blog, I will use names that have no relation at all for my wonderful teammates...

Vay-Dar Shmay:
The title of your blog is boring and mundane, it tends to put the reader to sleep nearly upon arrival. Other than that....the goal of your blog is clearly portrayed throughout all of your posts and it helps the reader understand the overall message you are trying to craft. The visibility of your blog could be increased through the use of other resources such as Digg, Reddit or StumbleUpon. Without knowing the name of your blog it quite difficult to find. Content is excellent. Way to GO!

Fran Schmaldwell:

By far the greatest portrayal of literary genius of our generations and without a doubt every generation there is to come. They might as well simply give up on trying to rewrite textbooks from now on. Some say they cried when they first saw the Sistine Chapel; I utterly broke down in a fit of cries, comprised of rainbows and exasperation when I first read the romance language that Dan Caldwell so effortlessly uses! Flawless...

THANK YOU FOR TUNING IN FOR ANOTHER RIVETING INSTALLMENT THAT IS......"Nate Blizzy's Forecast!"

Lab 5

This week is a discussion about Digg, StumbleUpon and Reddit, and how they can be used to a firm's advantage and market gain.

Digg: This is a very interesting resource to me. I had never been to Digg before today, but it can definitely be used by a firm to follow certain groups as well as allow other Digg users to keep up on their own products and services. Digg allows the firm to post articles that it believes fellow Digg users would find interesting and useful. The firm can also use Digg to keep tabs on its competitors by following the articles that they post. Digg can also be used as an interest gage. A firm could use Digg to see what its followers are viewing as well.

StumbleUpon: This is a resource that is mostly used for when boredom strikes. StumbleUpon is definitely not the best promotional tool out there, but it can be used one way. If a company has a website (which hopefully it does if it wants to be successful) then they can have their page be in the database for StumbleUpon. With their page in the database then people who are stumbling can come across their page eventually and make it a favorite, which will then increase the likely hood of them coming back across another one of the firm's pages later.

Reddit: This can be used as a buzz generator as well as a gage for that buzz, if present. A firm can submit a link in Reddit which will put it up for vote on the main screen. If enough people vote your submission it will rise on the voters page and eventually be in the top section, making it visible for everyone who comes on the Reddit site. Reddit in my opinion is definitely a form of a hype site, one that will generate a good buzz if you have an interesting submission. Unfortunately, the ones that are on the top revolve around humor and don't truly allow for gripping articles that will inform the masses about useful information.

Reader Blog Changes

I'm writing this blog to see how it changes my blog under the Reader for Gmail. I am quite curious to see how it affects it. Needless to say, this blog is going to be shorter than my other blogs as this is basically just a tester blog.

Marketing Uses

Firms can use a tiny URL as a great tool. A tiny URL can be used for publications such as press releases or articles in print. By using a tiny URL the firm can save money based on the print size of the article or advertisement by taking up less space. A tiny URL also requires less time from the viewer; due to it's decreased size it allows the viewer to copy down the website much quicker.

Embedding a video helps a company draw on other sources with visual aspects. This allows the firm to use resources other than their own. Editing a Wikipedia page also helps the firm by keeping the information under control.

These tools along with others really do help firms with their everyday business.
